builtin indexer can't query in READONLY mode

I was hoping to use the builtin indexer and do queries in READONLY mode, but it looks like the indexer wants to write a wordid for each query term. It seems like that would slowly grow the database unnecessarily, not to mention make it harder to have several concurrent readers.
